Indian Team: NIH-Roorkee (Lead), IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee & Mahavir Cancer Sansthan & Research Centre, Patna.

UK Team: University of Manchester (Lead), BGS, University of Birmingham, & Salford University.

Objectives

  • Investigate vulnerability of representative shallow sedimentary aquifer systems in Ganges River Basin to secular increases in arsenic
  • Predict future secular changes in groundwater arsenic.
  • Report/Communicate with key stakeholders to inform them of future hazards and risks and how groundwater management practices and strategic selection of water remediation technologies might be modified for societal benefit.
